A hydrosol is the pure aromatic water created when fresh botanicals are steam-distilled. As steam passes through the plant material, it captures the plant's water-soluble compounds—gentle actives, natural fragrance, and subtle energy—then condenses back into a fine, living water.

Are hydrosols safe for sensitive skin?

Because hydrosols are the water-born expression of the plant, they carry a fraction of the intensity of essential oils. No harsh solvents. No synthetic fillers. Just pure botanical water, gentle enough for daily use on even the most reactive skin.

Do hydrosols expire? How do I store mine?

Hydrosols are living plant waters—pure and preservative-free. Most last 12–18 months when stored with care.

NELUMBI mists come in violet glass bottles, which filter light to protect the integrity of the hydrosol—keeping it fresh, potent, and alive longer than plastic or clear glass ever could.

Store in a cool, dark place. Refrigeration extends its life and adds a lovely cooling sensation on skin.

Are these mists safe during pregnancy?
